Today saw Marshall Park go into its 3rd football season. With our opponents being new to our league. Marshall Park was up against Morley Town AFC who had a good solid mix of ages and abilities in their team. 

 

Marshall Started on the front foot with some good passing and ball possession. Creating a few good chances and seeing better of the game. We had a foul conceded by Morley Town to Marshall Park just near over half way line. For Ken Sullivan to play the ball into the area Adam Raven was bundled over however the ball was controlled so well by Jared for him to take his time and feed the ball into the back of the net beating Morley Town keeper. 

 

 Morley lifted there game for the next 5-8 mins with decent passes and some possession for them to play a ball down the left wing to cross and there striker to stick it in back of the net. Sadly for Marshall it soon became 2-1 as Morley got a 2nd goal before half time. 

 

 The great thing about subs is we can roll them on & off. So We had made a few changes as 2nd half got going with Adam, James Bedford Harry Wellock Kris Needham coming on for Jared, Ken, Riley Matthew Judd Ben Headley soon got Marshall to 2-2 with a fantastic header from a Harry Corner. Marshall was pressing Morley. 

 

Keeping a high defensive line and pushing Morley into mistakes and winning the ball off them. It was soon a hard press from Jack Ellis in midfield for the Morley player to loose the ball. Jack played it through to Adam with the Morley keeper way off his line for Adam Raven to shoot from 25 yards to make it 3-2 to Marshall Park. 

 

 Even though it was Marshall Park FC who looked like going on to score more goals Morley still was a threat with Mark Atkinson having to make a save down to his left to keep it to 3-2. Adam was on a roll with not long after scoring again Marshall pressing the ball as a team for a cross from Ben Headley to find Adam in the box for him to head Marshall Park to 4-2 up on Morley. 

 

The game ended 4-2 to Marshall Park with the lads playing some excellent football at times.
